Most Likely Causes
The most common cause of a dead or unresponsive Samsung range display is a failed control board (also called the ERC — Electronic Range Control). Power surges are a frequent trigger. The ribbon cable connecting the display to the board can also loosen or corrode over time, especially in humid kitchens.
DIY Troubleshooting Steps
- Unplug the range for 5 minutes then plug back in (power reset)
- Check the circuit breaker — a partial trip can kill the display while still powering heating elements
- Inspect the ribbon cable if you’re comfortable accessing the back panel
- If the “SE” error code is showing, this is a keypad fault — the membrane keypad needs replacement
